Female health – Common medical conditions to know

1.     Cardiovascular diseases

A report suggests that ailments related to cardiovascular function contribute to as much as 29% of total female mortality. A woman living with a severe heart condition that restricts her from multiple tasks while bringing down the quality of life is a persistent issue. Undiagnosed cardiovascular conditions are another issue in women, with signs like shortness in breath remaining ignored as a result of an overworked body.

The timely diagnosis of these illnesses is critical to restoring female health. However, as diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions can be expensive, lack of financing proves to be another hurdle.

Women can thus surpass their financial constraints by opting for the likes of a health card online and fund these diagnoses and their treatments well within time.

2.     Gynecological health issues

As per a study, approximately 10% of women aged between 15 and 44 years go through fertility issues. Delayed pregnancies are another of the major causes that lead to a rise in women’s gynaecological health issues in India.

Other persistent issues identified include PCOS or polycystic ovary syndrome, uterine fibroids, and endometriosis. While no specific underlying reasons have been identified, healthcare experts believe a rise in such issues reflects continued neglect and unhealthy lifestyle choices.

3.     Mental health issues

Medical conditions like anxiety and depression are among the most prevalent health issues in India for both men and women. Nevertheless, according to a study report, the burden of such illnesses is higher by up to 50% for females as compared to that of males.

The reason for such a high rate, experts suggest, can be tied to menstrual and post-partum changes in their endocrinology. Identifying the early signs and taking steps to seek professional help is the way forward to diminishing the impact of mental health issues among women.

4.     Metabolic syndromes

While the metabolic syndrome is not identified as a disease, it is definitely a severe health condition women develop over time, which resultantly reduces the quality of life. Not to mention, the symptoms lead to severe medical issues such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, etc.

The signs of metabolic syndrome include clustered markers of health like persistent hypertension, intolerance to glucose, obesity in the abdominal region, dyslipidemia, etc.

A timely diagnosis of these underlying health issues in India and their prevention can turn out to be critical in improving the overall female health in the country.

5.     Ductal and lobular carcinoma

Commonly known as breast cancer, ductal, and lobular carcinoma is one of the most common health issues in India among women. The medical condition has been found to develop among women across ages. Nevertheless, some risk factors pose a greater risk of its development, such as growing age, existing genetic mutations, chest radiations, family history, etc.

Women exposed to such risk factors must take care to undergo periodic preventive screenings for early detection, accurate diagnosis, and treatment.

As screening and diagnosis for these health issues also come with an added financial burden for the family, one should be prepared to look for available funding sources, in case the need be.

While health insurance policies are available, individuals are not adequately covered with these. Also, receiving coverage benefits under these policies comes with several limitations. One can thus look forward to financing options like health card online for adequate funding.

Products like the Bajaj Finserv Health EMI Network Card bring funding of up to Rs.4 lakh that can be used to pay for medical bills generated on all preventive, diagnostic, and treatment-related medical care received. Such expenses met can be repaid in EMIs over a tenor of up to 24 months. Also, a single card serves all members of a family.

A simple application process for the health card online gives you instant access to the digital card. You can pay for your medical expenses with the card across partner healthcare facilities in all major cities across India.

The availability of such financing options not only makes availing healthcare services affordable for women but also for other family members. They also serve as a critical funding option during medical emergencies.
