What is an inside bet?
An inside bet is determined by the position of the bet area on the Roulette table. When looking at the Roulette table layout, any bets placed within the areas where the single numbers are, are classed as inside bets.
Any bets placed in the boxes surrounding the boxed single numbers are classed as outside bets.
Inside bets and how to place them
Now you know where on the table layout you need to place a bet for it to be classed as an inside bet, let’s now explore a handful of inside bets you could place when you next visit the Roulette table.
- Straight up
A straight up bet is the technical term given to a bet that consists of a single bet placed on a single number.
To place a straight up bet, you simply need to place a betting chip(s) within the box that contains the number you wish to wager on. The chip(s) cannot touch the box border, and must be placed in the middle.
A straight up bet carries a betting odd of 35:1.
- Split
A split bet allows a player to place one wagering amount on two numbers at the same time.
To place a split bet, you’ll need to place a betting chip(s) on the line between the two numbers. These numbers need to be either to the side of each other or above or below one another on the table layout.
For example, you could place a betting chip on the line between numbers 23 and 24 or 32 and 35.
A split bet carries a betting odd of 17:1.
- Corner/Square
A corner or square bet allows players to place a wagering amount on four numbers at the same time.
To place a corner or square bet, you’ll need to place a betting chip(s) on the corners of where four numbers meet on the table layout.
For example, you could place a chip in the joining corners of numbers 22, 23, 25 and 26.
A corner or square bet, carries a betting odd of 8:1.
