Reliance Jio
Using Carrier Aggregation, Jio is bringing together all five of the key 5G frequencies in one robust “data highway”. The benefits include low latency, faster data rates, and high-quality video services. Jio is working with handset manufacturers to enable 5G.
According to Jio, the company has acquired nearly half of the available airwaves. It spent over Rs 80,000 crore in the 5G spectrum auction. It has acquired a mix of frequencies, including 3300 MHz (n78), 26 GHz (n258), and 700 MHz (n28). Jio’s plan is to roll out 5G in metropolitan cities first. It will then expand its network to tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Jio plans to roll out 5G in all Indian towns by December 2023.
Jio claims that the new 5G network will be able to provide “unlimited” data at 1Gbps+ speeds. The company also said that users in Bengaluru and Hyderabad will be able to enjoy Unlimited Data at up to 1Gbps+ speeds.
Bharti Airtel
Several top telcos and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have committed to the speedy rollout of 5G services in India. These include Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea Ltd, Reliance Jio, and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. They also plan to invest multi-billion dollars in building 5G networks in India over the next few years.

It also promises lag-free connectivity and enables billions of connected devices to share data in real time. The technology will enable lifesaving use cases such as emergency response and healthcare. It can also help in the real-time monitoring of disasters and precision agriculture.
The rollout of 5G services is expected to take place in phases. In the first phase, 13 cities will get services. This will be followed by more cities. In the next phase, 20-25 cities will get the services.
The telecom industry has also warned against fake towers. Prime Minister Modi has visited stalls set up by various telcos at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) exhibition.
