Maintaining boilers is a critical step to increase their life cycle efficiency and to bring out their best performance. Boilers perform the best when you incorporate ideal maintenance at the right time. It is not a hefty task to make a boiler pass a safety check once a year. Just like your favourite car needs annual maintenance in its heaters, peerless oil boilers require the same. Regardless of the promised life expectancy of oil boilers, it is essential to do regular check-ups. It is because boilers go through a lot of wear and tear that can interrupt their best performance.

Even minor signs like reduced heating, longer heating period, leakage, etc., can lead to bigger problems. It means that you have to take quick action in any such situation to avoid the underlying issues. Annual maintenance makes sure that no such issues arise. Even if they do, you are able to sense them before they get worse.

Annual check-ups and monthly investigation of water quality can be a roadblock to premature malfunctions. It can prevent possible breakdowns that could happen due to bad water quality, water pressure, or leaks. These problems can easily affect the boiler’s efficiency and can welcome a big expense for its user.

But, what are the best practices to maintain your peerless oil boiler? To keep it performing at the best efficiency, you need to follow the steps mentioned below. These sorted-out steps would increase the life and performance of your boiler.

  • 1. Replace the boiler parts every year.
  • 2. Check the fireside of the heat exchanger.
  • 3. Wash and clean the mesh by removing  the burner
  • 4. Check electrical connection for corrosion.
  • 5. Clean the condensate trap

1. Replace the boiler parts every year.

You need to ensure that all the boiler parts are replaced every year. The annual maintenance kit should include all the necessary peerless boiler parts that are affected by wear and tear. Replace them once a year, including gaskets. The combustion inspection covers removed during cleaning of the fireside should also be re-sealed. This will make sure that there is no leakage.

2. Check the fireside of the heat exchanger.

The fireside of the heat exchanger should be checked once a year to confirm that there is no clogging or loosened debris. You may perform this check-up by opening the inspection covers. If there is any fireside fouling, make sure to eliminate it using cleaning tools and washing its surface with water. You may also use a thin coat of mineral oil on the aluminium heating system to prevent any possible fouling until the next check-up. Check that the debris is tight and hasn’t fallen. It may stop the air from passing.

3. Wash and clean the mesh by removing  the burner

Do this even if you think the peerless oil boiler is clean. After washing, blow dry the system using the fan test option. You shouldn’t light it until it dries completely.

4. Check electrical connection for corrosion.

The electrical connections of your boiler may get corrosion due to condensation. If you find the fuses non-functional or harmed, or even slightly troublesome, replace them. Make sure that electrical connections in peerless boiler parts are tight.

5. Clean the condensate trap

The condensate can cause corrosion. Remember to clean the condensate trap once a year and check any possible risks.

Following these simple annual inspections would prevent any potential risks in your boiler. Make it certain to perform these check-ups after every one year to make the boiler’s performance promising.
