If you are using a disposable vape pen, you might encounter a problem where the vape wont stop hitting even when you are not inhaling or pressing the button. This can be annoying, wasteful and potentially dangerous, as it can overheat the device and damage the battery. In this article, we will explain why this happens and how to fix it.

Why Does a Disposable Vape Keep Firing?

There are a few possible reasons why your disposable vape might be auto-firing. Some of them are:

Defective battery

The battery is the power source of your vape pen, and it can malfunction due to manufacturing defects or damage. A faulty battery can send power to the coil without your command, causing it to heat up and vaporize the e-liquid.

Poor quality coils

The coil is the heating element of your vape pen, and it can vary in quality depending on the brand and model. A poor-quality coil can have loose wires or poor insulation, which can cause short circuits or leakage of current. This can trigger the coil to fire without your input.

Poor connection

The connection between the battery and the atomizer (the part that holds the coil and the e-liquid) is crucial for your vape pen to work properly. If there is a poor connection due to dirt, debris, condensation or damage, it can interfere with the communication between the two parts and cause them to fire randomly.

Extreme temperatures

Your vape pen is designed to work within a certain temperature range, usually between 10°C and 40°C. If you expose it to temperatures that are too high or too low, it can affect its performance and cause it to malfunction. High temperatures can cause the e-liquid to evaporate faster and create more condensation, which can lead to auto-firing. Low temperatures can reduce the battery life and make it harder for the coil to heat up properly.

Incorrect voltage

Your vape pen has a specific voltage range that it operates on, usually between 3.2V and 4.2V. If you use a charger that has a different voltage output than your device, it can damage the battery and cause it to fire uncontrollably. Always use the charger that came with your device or one that is compatible with its specifications.

How to Fix a Disposable Vape that Won’t Stop Firing?

If you notice that your disposable vape is auto-firing, you should take action immediately to prevent further damage or injury. Here are some steps you can take to fix it:

Remove the pod

The first thing you should do is remove the pod (the part that contains the e-liquid and the coil) from the battery (the part that has the button and the LED light). This will interrupt the electrical circuit and stop the device from firing. Never leave a fully assembled auto-firing device unattended, as it can overheat and explode.

Replace the batteries

Sometimes, a simple battery swap can solve the problem. Try using fresh batteries that are compatible with your device and see if it stops auto-firing. If not, you might have a deeper issue with your device or your pod.

Clean the contact point

The contact points are the metal parts that connect the battery and the pod together. They can get dirty or wet from dust, debris or condensation, which can interfere with their function and cause auto-firing. Use a cotton swab or a paper towel to gently wipe them clean and dry them off before reattaching them together. Make sure they are aligned properly and fit

Check the coil

The coil is located inside the pod, and it can be damaged or defective due to poor quality or misuse. A bad coil can cause short circuits or leakage of current, which can trigger auto-firing. To check if your coil is faulty, look for signs of burnt marks, loose wires or corrosion on its surface. If you see any of these signs, you should replace your pod with a new one as soon as possible.

  • Avoid extreme temperatures. As mentioned earlier, extreme temperatures can affect your device’s performance and cause auto-firing issues.
