CBD is rapidly gaining interest and popularity for its potential to help with a wide variety of issues. The right CBD product may help with sleeplessness, anxiety, depression, pain, inflammation, and more. CBD oil gummies can contain full-spectrum CBD or a pure CBD isolate. Let’s explore the differences between these two options so you can make the right choice for your individual needs.

What Is Full-Spectrum CBD?

Full-spectrum CBD contains extracts from all parts of the CBD plant, including terpenes, essential oils, and numerous cannabinoids. These full-spectrum products may contain up to 0.3% THC, which is the psychoactive compound in cannabis that creates the feeling of being high. Since THC is only present in a very low dose in these products, it does not create significant psychoactive effects.

What Is CBD Isolate?

CBD isolate is considered pure CBD. This compound contains nothing but CBD extract. Thus, it is completely free of THC, as well as other cannabinoids. CBD isolate goes through the same initial extraction process as full-spectrum CBD but undergoes additional processing as well.

What Are the Benefits of Full-Spectrum CBD?

Full-spectrum CBD is typically more potent than CBD isolate because it contains a variety of cannabinoids, including CBG, CBN, and THC. It also contains terpenes that increase the effectiveness of cannabinoids. The Lautenberg Center for Immunology and Cancer Research found that CBD isolate was ineffective for therapeutic purposes regardless of dose, while full-spectrum CBD was effective for treating pain and swelling. The effectiveness of the full-spectrum CBD also increased with higher doses.

Products containing full-spectrum CBD are used for a wide range of therapeutic effects and may help treat pain, inflammation, anxiety, depression, muscle spasms, and even seizures.

What Are the Benefits of CBD Isolate?

CBD isolate is a good alternative for people who are concerned about exposure to THC. Though hemp-derived products with less than 0.3% THC are considered legal, some users are still concerned about consuming this compound. Individuals who are sensitive to THC should be especially mindful of sticking to CBD isolate products. A CBD isolate is the only CBD compound that’s entirely free of THC, as well as other cannabinoids, so you’ll always know exactly what you’re getting.

Products containing CBD isolate will never interact with drug tests, while some of the compounds in full-spectrum CBD can cause a false positive on initial drug tests. The only CBD product approved by the FDA, Epidiolex, contains CBD isolate. Full-spectrum CBD products are not yet approved by the FDA.

Which Is Better?

CBD isolate and full-spectrum CBD both have their own benefits. These compounds come in a variety of products, including CBD oil gummies, tinctures, salves, and edibles. If you’re not concerned about exposure to trace amounts of THC, you may experiment with both choices and see which one serves your needs best.

Try using CBD as a natural treatment that induces a greater sense of calm, eases pain, and improves sleep.

Meta: Understanding the key differences between the content of full-spectrum CBD and CBD isolate products will help you choose the right type of CBD for your needs.
