Valeria – biography
Valeria was born on April 17, 1968 in the city of Atkarsk, Saratov Region, into a musical family. Father – Yuri Ivanovich, director of a music school. Mom – Galina Nikolaevna, a teacher at the same school.
The future star was engaged in music since childhood.
In 1990 she graduated from the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music (pop vocal), where her teachers were Joseph Kobzon and Gelena Velikanova.
In 1992 she recorded her first English-language album “The Taiga Symphony” and an album of Russian romances “Stay with me”.
From 1996 to 1998 she taught at the Gnessin Academy.

In 2001, she left show business due. To disagreements with her producer and husband Alexander Shulgin.
Since 2003 he has been working with producer Iosif Prigozhin and his company “Knox Music”.
In 2008 she became a Goodwill Ambassador of the IOM (International Organization for Migration, UN).
In 2009 she represented Russia at the opening of the world’s largest professional music exhibition Midem in Cannes.

In 2006, Valeria published an autobiographical book “And life, and tears, and love”, on which later director Nikolai Kaptan shot the series “There was love” (premiered on the channel “Russia”, in 2010).
In the book, the singer described her life during her marriage to producer Alexander Shulgin, who is called Shuisky in the book.
Valeria has been the face of advertising campaigns for a number of well-known international brands. Owner of her own line of perfume and jewelry De Leri.
On her birthday, April 17, 2013, the singer gave a big concert with an orchestra and choir at the Crocus City Hall.
